About us

Made by hand. Worn with pride.

Every Tanirah piece begins with Tanisha — her sketch, her eye, her obsession with getting it right. From embroidery frames to the fall of a kurti, nothing leaves our studio without passing through her hands first. This isn't fast fashion/mass produced. It never will be.

Tanirah was born from a simple but powerful desire — to do Chikankari differently.

Chikankari was born in Lucknow. So was Tanisha. So was Tanirah. Some things just aren't a coincidence.

Tanisha didn't discover Chikankari — she grew up in it. In Lucknow, Chikankari isn't just embroidery — it's a way of life, stitched into the fabric of every celebration, every memory, every season. But somewhere along the way, she felt that this centuries-old craft had been boxed in. The same silhouettes. The same styling. The same story, told the same way.

So she decided to tell it her way.

A graduate of NIFT with a deep foundation in textile design, Tanisha brought together everything she knew — the discipline of design, the intimacy of craft, and an aesthetic that is entirely, unmistakably hers. Tanirah became her answer to a question she'd been sitting with for years: What would Chikankari look like if it were made for the woman I am today?

The result is a brand that places the ancient art of hand embroidery onto modern silhouettes — kurtis that feel as natural at a Sunday brunch as they do at a festive gathering. Every piece is designed by Tanisha herself, from the embroidery motifs to the cut, ensuring that what reaches you isn't just clothing — it's a considered, crafted experience.

Alongside the kurtis, Tanirah is also home to Tanisha's art — Botaniq Frames and Hand Embroidered pieces that carry the same philosophy: beauty that is made slowly, made with intention, and made to last.

We believe that when you wear or own something from Tanirah, you shouldn't just feel well-dressed. You should feel proud.

Welcome to Tanirah.
